We provide services that require our physical presence mainly in and near Warsaw, but we can consider a trip if necessary. Remote help assistance and advice are not geographically limited. In the case of audio gear rental, shipment is possible.

1. Consulting and active assistance on the selection and purchase of home audio equipment, especially (but not only) second-hand units
2nd hand home audio market is huge and it is not always easy to choose equipment that is not only generally decent, but also its parameters match the rest of the system, the room in which it will play, and the needs and preferences of the user. We will help you choose the missing elements of your audio system or build the whole system from scratch so that it sounds well, has the desired functions, works well in a given room, is within your budget and, if possible, looks good as well. We will tell you what you can relatively safely buy online (with shipment), and which components shou should rather find locally, with personal collection. We will advise you what to ask the seller, what to look for when checking the equipment, which defects are less significant or easy to remove and the unit can be considered despite them (for example after negotiating the price), and which are serious enough to look for something else instead. We can also accompany you when you’re making the purchase and help check the equipment, and even order/buy equipment on your behalf, carefully check it, make repairs and adjustments if necessary, and hand it over to you.

2. Remote and in-person help with connecting audio equipment
Not all audio devices can work together. Not every speaker can be safely connected to every amplifier. Not every amplifier can be placed under a CD player or tuner (and you shouldn’t put pots or vases on any of them). A turntable can be connected directly to to some amplifiers and receivers, but not to all of them. Not every turntable should be connected to a phono input. On the other hand, the fact that an amplifier or receiver is 50 years old does not necessarily mean that you cannot connect your phone to it via bluetooth. The amplifier has a completely different connectors than your music player? There is probably a cable or adapter that will do the trick. We’ve cut our teeth connecting various devices to each other, sometimes in a rather non-obvious way, so if you have a problem with connections, we will help you solve it. And if you’re in Warsaw, we can come and physically connect the equipment. You’re on vacation and your mom/wife is crying over the phone that she took out the cables while cleaning and now the’re no sound? No problem, we’ll drive up and reconnect it 🙂

3. Help with repairs, maintenance and adjustment of home audio equipment
No equipment lasts forever, every device can fail. They all sometimes need cleaning and adjustment. Cleaning the amplifiers inside is advisable especially in the case of older devices; they can accumulate a layer of dust that would put your great-grandmother’s attic to shame. Adjustment is important because each device has parameters at which it works as it should. These parameters are factory-set to the correct level, but usually drift off after years )or decades). For example, if an amplifier’s quiescent current is too low or too high, its sound may deteriorate and the risk of failure increases. In the case of disc players, a worn belt can cause the disc tray get stuck. Not to mention turntables that require relatively frequent adjustment and replacement of worn parts (styli and belts). But even a problem as minor prosaic as a blown lamp illuminating the receiver’s dial can spoil the pleasure of using the equipment. We carry out a large part of the repair work ourselves. If a more complicated repair is necessary, we cooperate with experienced, proven and reliable technicians and with a furniture restorer who is very good at repairing wooden cabinets of speakers, amplifiers and receivers.

4. Home audio rental
You’re dropping off your equipment for repairs and need a replacement for a few days, because life without music is simply unacceptable? Or maybe you want to try the amplifier/speakers/headphones we wrote about yourself? We have a fairly large “stable” of home audio equipment that we can make available to you. We are working on a list of available devices, for now – just ask about the equipment you want to rent. Note that we will ask you to leave a deposit. Shipping of the rented equipment is possible in most cases, but you bear the associated cost and risk.
